MEET OUR TEACHERS

BETHAN

I’m Bethan and I’m half Chinese and half British which means I come from Hong Kong and England. I studied education and fine arts at HKU.

I think the best thing about teaching is watching your students grow and develop their English skill but most importantly as little people. Our students all have their own unique strengths and personalities, as a teacher, I hope to nurture and support them in best ways possible. I’ve been with Jack and Jill for 9 years and for many more..

TÉA

I’m from the UK and I have graduated with a First Class degree in BA Fine Art and Curating. I have always been passionate about all kinds of writing from stories to essays and art critiques. Throughout my life I have tutored children in English as well as offered support on IB assignments. I have recently moved to Hong Kong to start a new & exciting life here and I look forward to meeting you all!

AUDREY

My name is Audrey and I am an ethnically Chinese native English speaker who holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Warwick (UK), as well as CELTA certification from IH London.

I grew up in both Hong Kong and Singapore under the international school system and my creative passions have taken me through the fields of public relations, design, and branding – all of which I use in combination when teaching children to advance their emerging powers of communicative persuasion.

CICI

I grew up mainly in Melbourne, Australia and also in Nottingham, England but moved to Hong Kong 9 years ago. I have a double degree – a Bachelor of Communications with Honors and an Advanced Diploma of Fashion Design. I love being around children and have been teaching piano and English for many years now! My favourite part of the job is seeing the kids learn/grow and advance in their studies. Playing a role in their learning journey is very fulfilling!

SALLY

I’m Sally! I was educated in the UK, attending a top girl’s boarding school for my A-Levels and later completed a Double Major degree in Politics and International Relations from the London School of Economics. After that, I became an English writer and editor specialising in sustainability, food technology and wellness. I am also a radio presenter, where I host English programmes related to the environment. I look forward to meeting my students and be able to guide them in their educational journey!

LESLIE

I grew up In Texas and moved to Los Angeles as a young adult. I studied Finance at university and have a Master in Business from the University of Southern California. Both my parents were teachers and had masters’ degrees. They raised my siblings and me to value education and to always learn new things. I love that I have the opportunity to have a second career in teaching.
I enjoy being around children and encouraging them to learn and explore new things. I try to make learning fun while motivating students to always try their best. I look forward to watching each student grow in their unique way as they reach new milestones.

MARCUS

My name is Marcus! I was born in Hong Kong but spent half my life overseas. I studied in the US for high school and spent my college years in Canada pursuing a degree in English and Film Studies. My immense passion for films stems from its infinite possibilities in storytelling and its ability to create incredibly immersive and impactful experiences that can transcend boundaries. Likewise, I love reading stories of all genres! I have been teaching at Jack & Jill Treehouse for more than a year and have taught classes from Young Writer to Public Speaking as well as helping students with the the Kids4Kids Writing Competition last year. I love helping kids develop their ideas into a well crafted plot. I look forward to another fun and fruitful summer this year!

VALERY

My name is Valery! I grew up in Hong Kong and California. The stark contrast in cultures inspired me to study Psychological Science at the University of California. I learned about childhood development and I love being around bright young minds, inquiring into their unique perspectives, and encouraging their curiosity about the world! I have experience tutoring young children through active play, learning songs, teaching phonics, storytelling, and more. I also have experience working with neurodiverse children. Understanding the importance of development in the early stages of life, I am eager to model a positive and resilient mindset and affirm students’ capabilities to foster their personal growth and learning. I can’t wait to get to know my students and help them craft tools to build their lives!

PATTY

I grew up in the vibrant cities of Hong Kong and Canada, which has given me a unique perspective on culture and education. I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business, where I focused on Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology, particularly in infants and children. This blend of disciplines has deepened my understanding of how young minds develop and interact with the world around them. During my time in Canada, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach English to students ranging from Kindergarten to Primary levels. This experience was incredibly rewarding, as I witnessed firsthand the joy and motivation that comes when students engage with learning. It brings me immense fulfillment and drives my passion for teaching. I look forward to embarking on this learning journey together with my students!
